KaBlogAlah: Supreme Court backs seizure of private property

The Supreme Court today expanded the right of local governments to seize private property under eminent domain, ruling that people's homes and businesses -- even those not considered blighted -- can be taken against their will for private development if the seizure serves a broadly defined "public use."

My view? That sucks. The court made the wrong call on this one, and the fact that my view puts me on the same side of the aisle as Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas makes me more than a little bit ill.
