Who's side was the media on again?

Fox News (of all places) is reporting that Sarah Palin did not know that Africa was a continent and could not name all the countries in North America. This, and other details that would have disqualified Palin from the vice presidency, were (apparently) known to the beat reporters covering the campaign, i.e. the journalists who traveled with the candidates, but not reported until after the election.

The questions: (1) Why? (2) Who defanged you? (3) Seriously, WTF? (4) What else do you know that you aren't telling us? As Jon Stewart put it (paraphrased) "What kind of kooky stories are you going to tell us about the president's decision-making process when the Gulf War is over?" (5) So that whole noble thing about you guys being the gaurdians of democracy, the public's right to know, yada yada, is... what? Just something you say to pick up women?

Color me disgusted. And, boy, did we dodge a bullet.
